Nicole Farhii to present the sculpture Award for women in art prize

We are thrilled to announce that the esteemed sculptor Nicole Farhi will be presenting the sculpture award at The Women in Art Prize 2025. This prestigious event will take place at the British Library Theatre on September 17th, showcasing the remarkable achievements of women in the art world.

Nicole Farhi CBE is celebrated not only for her artistic talents but also for her inspiring journey from the world of fashion design to the realm of sculpture. Farhi’s artistic roots trace back to the early 1960s when she studied art and fashion in Paris. It was during this formative period that she began to cultivate her passion for sculpture, a journey that would later define her artistic legacy.

In the mid-1980s, Farhi embarked on her sculpting career, honing her skills under the mentorship of artist Jean Gibson in a private studio. Despite her flourishing fashion career, she dedicated one day a week, along with her weekends, to her artistic practice. This commitment to her craft ultimately led her to make a pivotal decision: to transition from fashion to full-time sculpture. Her dedication culminated in her first solo exhibition in 2019, marking a significant milestone in her artistic journey.

Throughout her career, Farhi has been influenced and supported by prominent figures in the art world, including the renowned sculptor Eduardo Paolozzi, who served as both a friend and mentor. His guidance has undoubtedly played a crucial role in shaping her artistic vision and success.

The Women in Art Prize not only recognizes the contributions of women artists but also emphasizes the importance of mentorship and support within the art community. As Nicole Farhi takes the stage to present the sculpture award, her presence serves as a testament to the profound impact that dedicated individuals can have on the artistic landscape.

Join us in celebrating the achievements of women in art and the inspiring journey of Nicole Farhi at this remarkable event.

Farhi is also a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors.
