Nazy Vassegh is a Cultural connector, Strategist and Art Advisor, with in-depth experience in the international art world. She worked at Sotheby’s for 19 years where she became division Managing Director for Impressionist & Modern Art, launched Sotheby’s Preferred and went on to transform Masterpiece Art Fair. A specialist in the art world, Nazy has an Art Consultancy advising private and corporate clients on art acquisitions in homes and corporate spaces. In 2019 Nazy founded Eye of the Collector, an innovative art and design platform which has been described as a ‘quietly disruptive’ fair model.

Nazy Vassegh joined Sotheby’s Marketing Division after achieving her BA (Hons) in Politics, Economics and Law. Whilst at Sotheby’s Nazy became a Senior Vice President and worked across many divisions, travelling extensively, and working with private and corporate clients internationally. Career highlights at the auction house included becoming the Managing Director of the Impressionist and Modern Art Division, Global Executive Director for Impressionist, Modern, Contemporary, Old Masters and Jewellery divisions and launching Sotheby’s Preferred, working closely with top tier clients. This experience has given Nazy a deep understanding of the mechanics of the international art world and market. She was CEO for Masterpiece for 4 years where she transformed the fair resulting in its successful sale to the Art Basel Group in 2017.

Today Nazy is recognised as an independent and trusted Art Advisor and Cultural Strategist who brings a wealth of experience with a sharp eye on Modern & Contemporary Art and Collectible Design. Her experiences at Sotheby’s and Masterpiece have also given her extensive knowledge and network across different collecting categories. This has allowed her and her associates to work across genres and disciplines to source, curate and develop art collections for discerning clients with differing budgets and collecting goals. She is known as a connector and a champion of Arts and Artists.

She is also the Founder & CEO of Eye of the Collector, a unique fair that offers a curated presentation of art and collectible design in dialogue with beautiful architectural surroundings.

She has served on a number of Committees and Boards and is a regular speaker on the art world in the press, TV, podcasts, radio and regularly participates in talks and chairs panels.
